Miranda Lambert was in Charleston last weekend!!!! It was pouring rain right before the concert so this is the ONLY decent picture I got of Brannon and I because my hair got wet and frizzed. It was tragic.
Miranda Lambert put on an AMAZING show!! Our seats were on the floor close to the stage so I can now say that we are friends. You know, since we were that close to each other and all. I just love this girl! She is so talented and seems so genuine and down to earth! She said she went shopping on King Street before the concert and bought this entire outfit!!! Killer!
She performed a country version of Lady Gaga's You and I. I had chills. Y'all know I love me some Gaga!! My favorite country star singing my favorite pop star's song. I DIED!
Before she sang "Over You" she gave us a little background on the song. She and Blake wrote this song together. His brother who was killed in a car accident was the inspiration. Blake recently lost his father too so she was saying how this song is hard for her to perform because of all the emotion behind it. I wanted to share the lyrics with you. The first time I heard it a few months ago I had to pull my car over on the side of the road so I could cry. A deep sadness came over me. I think about how much I miss my dad all the time. But I rarely think about how much my mom misses her husband. I got so sad thinking about it because she lost the love of her life and best friend. I cannot imagine the pain she must feel. Moments like this remind me how precious life is. And that I need to cherish each and every moment that Brannon and I have together.
Weather man said it’s gonna snow
By now I should be used to the cold
Mid-February shouldn’t be so scary
It was only December
I still remember the presents, the tree, you and me
But you went away
How dare you?
I miss you
They say I’ll be OK
But I’m not going to ever get over you
Living alone here in this place
I think of you, and I’m not afraid
Your favorite records make me feel better
Cause you sing along
With every song
I know you didn’t mean to give them to me
But you went away
How dare you?
I miss you
They say I’ll be OK
But I’m not going to ever get over you
It really sinks in, you know, when I see it in stone
Cause you went away,
How dare you?
I miss you
They say I’ll be OK
But I’m not going to ever get over you
By now I should be used to the cold
Mid-February shouldn’t be so scary
It was only December
I still remember the presents, the tree, you and me
But you went away
How dare you?
I miss you
They say I’ll be OK
But I’m not going to ever get over you
Living alone here in this place
I think of you, and I’m not afraid
Your favorite records make me feel better
Cause you sing along
With every song

I miss you
They say I’ll be OK
But I’m not going to ever get over you
