Dog Portrait and A Birthday Note
A little over a month ago my mother and father in law found out that their dog's cancer had returned. The first time around they did all of the treatments on him and even sent him away to Auburn to have radiation treatments done. But this time they have chosen not to treat the cancer. With his age and weak body they wanted him to be at home and comfortable for the rest of his life.
Every year I rack my brain over what to get my in-law's for Christmas. I always want to give them extra special gifts since they are so good to my husband and I. I was laying on my couch one afternoon and looked up at the painting I had done of Bo for Brannon a few years ago and that's when it hit me!!! I wanted my in-laws to have a painting of Buck in their home to always remember him by and to make them smile every time they look at it like we do when we look at Bo.
I wanted to share the painting that I had done. Holly, the artist that did it is amazingly talented!!! Do you love it??!!
If you go to her website, under dog portraits...Bo is the second one!! He is so handsome!!
I was unable to spend Christmas with my in-laws. With the passing of my Gigi, I thought it would be best to stay in Columbia with my mom and sisters. Brannnon called to tell me that his mom cried when she opened the gift. And shortly after he called, she called to thank me and to tell me how much she loved it. These labs are like our children so I started crying when she and I got off the phone because I know how much she loves Buck.
And another pic I snapped on my phone. I saw this top hat and HAD to have it!! It's a tree topper but I used it on my buffet. Pardon the dust!!
I hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas so far...and that Santa was extra nice! Love you all!
P.S.
For my birthday my huband gave me a few things but the BEST he gave me was a sweet card. So I had to share with you what he wrote in it.

Early Sunday morning, we received a phone call from the hospital saying that my Gigi had taken a turn for the worst in the middle of the night....and did not make it.
So many emotions ran through my body when I heard this. I am so sad that I will never be able to talk to her again or see her again. But relieved that she is no longer suffering.
A few days before she fell (mid October) I went over to her house to visit. And she told me that she had a ring that she wanted me to have. It was her sisters and she thought that I would love it and wear it so she wanted to show it to me to see if I wanted it. Of course I fell in love when I saw diamonds! It's beautiful. It looks like a traditional anniversary style ring. With 5 diamonds across the top of the ring. Its absolutely gorgeous and it so special to me.
It is comforting to know that she has been reunited in heaven with her husband (my "big daddy"), her 6 brothers and sister, and....my dad!
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!! And that Santa is extra sweet to you this year!!
P.S
I have received several emails over the last year regarding my blog address. So I figured now is the best time to explain to you what boopiegiles means! Giles is my last name...And "boopie"....pronounced BOO-PEE. Is a nickname that my Gigi has called me for as long as I can remember. With her extremely thick southern accent it sounded more like...Boooo-peeeee.

HO HO HOpeful
I wanted to share 3 things that are at the TOP of my Christmas wish list this year. You can never lose hope that maybe, just maybe Santa has not forgotten about that dark haired, Christmas sweatshirt wearing little girl....
And he has a sack full of fancy jewelry, designer shades, and to die for accessories.
David Yurman Extra Large Oval
Link Bracelet
I tried this on last week at a jewelry store in Charleston and I have to say..it looks PERFECT on my wrist. The over sized links of the bracelet makes the chunkiness in my wrist look not so chunky.
Tom Ford SunglassesIf you are a Real Housewives of the ATL fan then you probably recognize these shades. NeNe has been rocking these bad boys in the last few episodes. Obsessed.

Monogrammed Wool Clutch
from LaPlates
Perfect size wool clutch with a classy monogram to sass it up...what's not to love?!!! I want the black and white one of course!

Me and Brian picking out our Christmas tree. Christmas came a little early this year for Brian. Brannon and I got him the new XBOX kinect a few weeks ago and we let him open it this past weekend because we were just to excited to wait. He loved it. And played it all day Saturday. He was glued to it! It warmed my heart to see him so happy! And grateful!
My Christmas Tree!! I snapped this picture on my phone so it's not the best quality. This was with about 1/3 of my ornaments and pre tree skirt. What ya think?
A few of my Santa's....
And my front porch. My wreath hanger is my absolute FAVORITE Christmas decoration that I own. I picked it up two years ago the day after Christmas for dirt cheap. It's a gold metal hanger with a red metal bow. At Hobby Lobby the other day I found the most precious top hat tree toppers to put on my topiaries. I will post pictures as soon as I put them on!
